The
Management Carmel Public School, an educational institution,
protected under the mantle of our lady of Mt. Carmel, is run by the
congregation of CMI Fathers.
Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) is the first
indigenous religious order in India. It was the fruition of the collective
dream of three holy and visionary priests, namely Blessed Kuriakose
Elias Chavara, Fr. Thomas Palackal and Fr. Thomas Porukkara. The first
monastery was established at Mannanam in 1855. This 'exempt' religious
order has a membership of over 2500 and is spread out in all the continents
of the world.
